Overview

Visuali (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates an AI-powered interior design platform that allows users to redesign and visualize their living spaces. We are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent about how we collect, use, and share it.

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Visuali platform, including our website, web application, and any related services. By using Visuali, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the service, and information from third parties.

Account Information

• Name and email address when you create an account
• Password (stored in hashed, non-reversible form)
• Profile preferences and design style selections
• Billing information when you subscribe to a paid plan (processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers)

Content You Upload

• Room photographs and images you upload to the platform
• Room dimensions, style preferences, and budget inputs you provide
• AI-generated room designs associated with your account
• Saved items, boards, and design collections

Usage & Technical Data

• Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform
• Device type, browser, operating system, and IP address
• Referring URLs and search terms used to find Visuali
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see our Cookie Policy)

Third-Party Sign-In

If you sign up using Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider. We do not receive your password or payment information from these providers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve Visuali. Specifically, we use your data to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate your identity
• Process your room photos and generate AI-powered design renderings
• Personalize design recommendations based on your stated preferences and history
• Provide shoppable product suggestions matched to your style and budget
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, receipts)
• Send promotional emails and product updates, if you have opted in
• Analyze usage patterns to improve platform performance and features
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents
• Comply with applicable legal obligations

AI Training & Your Data

Visuali uses machine learning to power its room redesign and product recommendation features. To improve the quality and accuracy of these AI systems, we may use content you submit — including room photographs, style selections, and generated outputs — as training data.

Before using your content for AI training, we take the following steps:

• Images are reviewed or processed to remove or obscure identifiable personal information (such as faces or identifying documents visible in photos) where technically feasible
• Training datasets are handled internally or with vetted AI infrastructure partners bound by data processing agreements
• We do not sell training datasets to third parties

Opting Out of AI Training

You may opt out of having your content used for AI model training at any time by visiting Account Settings → Privacy → AI Training Preferences or by contacting us at privacy@visuali.com. Opting out does not affect your ability to use the platform, but it will prevent future uploads from being included in training datasets. It does not retroactively remove previously included data from trained models.

Room Photo Storage

Room photos you upload are stored on our secure cloud infrastructure and associated with your account. We store these photos to:

• Display your past designs within the platform
• Allow you to re-generate or refine designs from previously uploaded rooms
• Enable the "Saved Items" and "My Designs" features in your account

Photos are stored for as long as your account is active. You may delete individual photos or all uploaded content at any time from your account settings. Upon account deletion, your photos are removed from our primary storage systems within 30 days. Copies stored in backups are purged within 90 days.

We do not publicly display your room photos without your explicit consent. Photos are not shared with product partners or advertisers.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: We share data with third-party vendors who help us operate the platform (cloud hosting, payment processing, email delivery, analytics). These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to perform services for us.
• AI Infrastructure Partners: We use third-party AI APIs and compute providers to generate room redesigns. Your uploaded photos may be transmitted to these providers to produce your results. They are prohibited from retaining or using your content for their own purposes.
• Product & Affiliate Partners: When you click on a shoppable product, we share anonymous session data with retailers for attribution. We do not share your name or email with these partners.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Visuali, our users, or the public.
• Business Transfers: If Visuali is acquired, merged, or sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Specifically:

• Account data is retained until you delete your account
• Uploaded room photos are retained until you delete them or delete your account
• Usage and analytics data may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form indefinitely
• Billing records are retained for 7 years as required by U.S. tax law

After account deletion, personal data is removed from active systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion: Request that we delete your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Portability: Request that we provide your data in a structured, machine-readable format
• Opt-Out of AI Training: Opt out of having your content used to train AI models
• Opt-Out of Marketing: Unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time via the link in any email or in your account settings

California residents may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of the “sale” of personal information. Visuali does not sell personal information as defined under CCPA.

Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• Encryption of data in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256)
• Access controls limiting employee access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
• Regular security assessments and penetration testing
• Secure password hashing using bcrypt or equivalent

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately at security@visuali.com.

Children's Privacy

Visuali is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact privacy@visuali.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email (to the address on your account) and by posting a prominent notice on our platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of Visuali after the effective date of a revised policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree to the revised policy, you may delete your account before the changes take effect.
